Start of Opti München 2008

Opening its doors today at the new exhibition center in Munich is Opti München, Germany’s most important trade fair in the sector.

 An important new addition for Opti ’08: starting this year, GHM, a specialist in fairs for small- and medium-sized industries, will be handling the organization of the fair. Up till now organized by O.K. Messen of Salzburg, the optics and ophthalmology fair has been held in Munich since 1998 with good results and its development has been dynamic. The number of exhibitors has in fact increased from the initial 250.

This edition of Opti München will be under the new direction of Dieter Dohr. He joined GHM in March 2007 and brought with him the experience he gained in organizing world-scale exhibitions at Messe München International.

The exhibition will include seminars and round tables as part of a forum, as well as targeted events on the subjects of training and professional specialization.

The award for the “Trendy” competition, organized every year by ZVA (Zentral Verband Augenoptiker) in collaboration with Spectaris, the association of companies in the sector, will be officially presented for the first time at the Munich fair.
