World-class lens production technology of Daejun in Korea

Lens industry of Daejun is the top in technology
The production enterprises in Daejun hold complete production technology for super hi-index lens with refractive index over 1.67. (commonly described as ‘triple compression’) Also the Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology in Daeduk innopolis has nearly completed the technology for super hi-index with refractive index over 1.73, which has been imported 100% previously.

They also have developed the technology for the mold for compression lens which also has been completely depended on importation before. Professor Lee Ho-Chul’s team of Hanbat University has developed the production of compressed lens and is preparing to build production institute in Jun Optical (Representative Yoo Kyung-Joon) in 1?2 industrial complex of Deajun. After this institute is completed, the lens could be produced at the cost of about 30% of importing price.

If the production of hi-index lens and the mold becomes 100% domesticated, Daejun becomes to center of lens industry in Korea and even in the world.
President of Glass optical science cluster in Daejun ChoongChung, Yoo Byung-Ro (Professor of Environmental Engineering in Hanbat University) said “The patent owned by Japan is certainly a difficulty but lens industry of Korea, especially the Daejun’s production technology is among the highest in the world.” He also said “Soon they will 100% replace the importation just with their own technology.”
