WOF(Wenzhou Optics tradeshow) establishes itself as a unique optical event since 2003.It has experienced 5 sessions and renovates the latest record in history covering a total display area of 1, 7000 sqm and 500 booths in 2008. Zhejiang province is the biggest manufacturing base of optical industry in China. Starting from the end of 1970¡¯s and the beginning of 1980¡¯s, the insiders of optical industry have witnessed the hardships of developing its business scope from workshops to brand enterprise. Through 30 years development, taking Wenzhou city and Ruian city as core, Linhai and Yuhan as two wings, Zhejiang have built the biggest optical manufacturing enterprise group in the world, with about 2500 optical manufacturing enterprises and 150,000 workers.  On one hand, local eyeglass association actively engage in building and shaping regional brands; on the other hand, individual enterprises make efforts to improve the technique, accelerate the brand innovation, promote the quality and strengthen the publication.  The annual production value of eyeglass in Zhejiang has reached over 10 billions, and whose whole output accounts for over 50% of world¡¯s annual sales range, and 70% of China; the annual export value of eyeglass in Zhejiang has reached to 714 million , which ranks second in China. Its product sells to over 100 hundred countries and regions all over the world.

However, though China has been widely regarded as a great producing, it cannot be called a great power yet. The optical design and brand promotion have become the main disadvantage which greatly limits the development of China optical industry. In order to promote the national optical brand, the exhibitor encourages the enterprises to lay out the original designed optical products, which offers edification and guidance for domestic optical enterprises.

Take Linhai city¡¯s optical industry as example, the industry chain has become a characteristic regional industry. As the process of opening global market goes deeper, Linhai city¡¯s optical enterprises joined the WOF2008 with full enthusiasms. Such phenomena also happen on Ruian city¡¯s optical enterprises, which used to focus their business in domestic market.
