Fair: Cheap Sunglasses

Write:anomityrFrom:guardianHits:482Updatetime:Sep 06, 2008

The Permian Basin Fair and Exposition kicks off today
August 28, 2008 - 12:32PM
ODESSA AMERICAN
ZZ Top started in Houston, so it only makes sense for a Texas band to offer tribute to a group that still has its original members 40 years after inception.

Cheap Sunglasses' Chuck Cottle was introduced to ZZ Top in his early teens, and according to a news release, was quite impressed with Billy Gibbons' playing, particularly the slide guitar.  Cottle is Cheap Sunglasses' version of Gibbons.

Tim Harden plays bass, sings and is the band's Dusty Hill.  He has been playing bass in the studio and on stage for more than 20 years.

Jimmy Fenno is the Frank Beard (the drummer without a beard) of Cheap Sunglasses.

And, Jeff Gilbertson is the keyboardist/utility player for Cheap Sunglasses, and is the band's "5th Beatle."

Get the high-octane performance of ZZ Top, but don't spend hundreds on tickets. This band will only be at the fair the first four days.
